Men’s

Mens Club Captain – Alan Cave – 2023/2024 – Handicap 7

I have a very soft spot for this beautiful golf course. Having been a member at a number of golf clubs in the Bedfordshire area from a junior aged 12 to a 37 year old family man I really cannot see myself anywhere else. I have been a member here since 2017 and have loved every second of it. Beautiful surroundings, competitive golf but above all some wonderful people across all the clubs membership sections makes it feel like a home from home.

Our men’s section at Wyboston Lakes is teeming with competitions throughout the summer and winter months. These include weekend medals, midweek medals and number or named board competitions throughout the year all attributing to an order of merit at the end of year for both Gross and Net scores. Mid-Week golf is also catered for with social roll-ups on a Tuesday & Thursday morning and always a good laugh with some good golf, some not so good golf (myself mainly) at times but all reflected on with friends in the bar afterwards.

For the real competitor there are major competitions throughout the year to include a two-day Club Championship, The Presidents Cup (36 holes) and Captains Day. You can also chose to represent Wyboston Lakes in inter club handicap and scratch matches and pit your golf against other clubs across Bedfordshire. There are also fun competitions such as teams Texas Scrambles and the Christmas Turkey Trot ‘2 clubs and a putter’.

Whether you want competitive golf, a social knock with friends or somewhere between the two I would urge you to try Wyboston Lakes men’s section. If you would be keen to speak to someone about joining or If you would like me to show you around and get you involved please do not hesitate to contact me through the website or through the club directly. Warm wishes and happy golfing.
